Every melody paints a picture. Not on a canvas of course but in our minds and on our hearts. Every song you listen to can either impact you for good or bad. It will either leave a last message or it will be one of those things you hear in the store and remember for a short time. Music is a powerful tool. Music can create such an emotion in your body. You can feel it in your core. That’s the power behind music. The emotions we can’t say with words, we can say with music. We can create many different emotions within one song just by changing the slightest part – the tempo, the note, the pitch. It can be mesmerizing, terrifying, enjoyable, fear filled, it can create a world in our heads. Sometimes something so chaotic and other times so beautiful we don’t want to leave. Music is the most powerful tool known to mankind. You can’t win the world over with words, or politics, or even money. But you can make the world bow before you with music, when done right. It can be light hearted and uplifting, or it can take you to the darkness in your soul. Music – when untamed… is dangerous. Like a sword. Silent. Sharp. Beautiful. Lethal. Because of its complexity I love to analyze it. I love taking apart the lyrics and talking about their meaning to me and in general. I love talking about what instruments work in my opinion and how they add or detract from a song.

I’m hoping to get a few friends to give me their ideas and thoughts on some of these songs as well! Music brings us all to different places.
